I’m Xavier, a photographer that needs to revamp my portfolio and website so I’m giving away a free portrait sessions!! I’m working locally in the Shreveport, LA area.

The style of work I’m looking to produce is alternative, location and environmental portraiture, aka working on staying out of a corporate-suite-n-tie studio style shoots. It can be editorial, commercial, over the top, singles, couples, pets, intimate, bands, head shots, performance art, what ever you want! Anything outside of a studio! Anything artful and fun.

My only NOs are children and/or weddings.

If your interested send me an email. Lets plan a sit down where we can discuss ideas of what you want, as well as, examples of the kind of portraits you like. (They can come from anywhere, magazines, the interweb, books, etc)

Afterward we’ll set a date, have the shoot, I’ll edit and supply you with disk of images that you can use as you see fit!!!

Hope to hear from you soon!

My mother, the Romanian gypsy.

I got some el-cheap-o lights today that work rather well. Here’s a self-portrait using said lights.

As I’m trying to shape in my mind what I want in my own blog, I’ve been looking a lot at other peoples blog for inspiration. Been finding a lot of blogs with great content. This one…

http://www.beyondmegapixels.com

…for instant, has a wealth of great content for the beginners. Kinda in the way, “OK, I just bought this great camera. Now what do I do with it???”

Honestly I don’t see my blog mimicking this kind of formant but I want to list them for, #1 those persons looking for content, and #2 even someone as myself can always take a peek and say, “Oh yeah, I forgot about that simple method.”

Enjoy

I just found an amazing blog!

http://www.diyphotography.net

There is an amazing wealth of information on a lot of very simple techniques of photography. I know now-a-days people don’t like to hear “simple” and “photography” in the same sentence but lets not forget that just because most every no longer uses film in their cameras doesn’t mean those old tricks still don’t work. The less digital editing you have to do to a photograph the better.

i just found this tutorial on youtube. as a photographer that learned most everything on film, i’m kinda weary of over doing on digital manipulations. i tend to only do in photoshop what i would do in a dark room though i can see myself using this.

I made a few changes to my gallery. Basicly playing with settings to see if the software I'm using on that part of my site is going to be what I need it to be. I feel the signs are pointing to yes!

I want it be be an interactive part of my site I can show the events that I photograph. Allowing users to order prints from me through it.

And possibly some galleries of sell-able products such as my cliche nature photography, so on and so forth.

So go take a look… http://www.gallery.xavierarmand.com
